Please note that although Eddowes, Perry and Osbourne solicitors enjoy an excellent business relationship with all of the local estate agents, we are not tied financially to any other business unlike some solicitors' firms in the area.
Please let us know if you are told by any firm of Estate Agents that you cannot use EPO to do your conveyancing. If you let us know , and are prepared to give us details in writing , we will reduce your bill by £25.
There are several firms of Estate agents who have 'panels' of solicitors whom they will recommend you to use.We have discovered that the estate agents are getting a fee of £75 per introduction from the solicitors on their panel and the solicitors are having to pay a further fee of £25 per case to the company which has set up the panels. As you will be aware, that £100 total fee will either be absorbed by the firm of solicitors or passed on to you, the client. The estate agent will probably tell you that it is far better for you to use a panel member to deal with your sale or purchase because they can 'track' your case, and that the estate agents can 'monitor' the solicitors firm! We at EPO also have those facilities, but we don't pay anyone to refer your business! If you are referred to another firm by an Estate agent, make sure that they are referring you for the right reason , and not for their financial gain. You have been warned!
